These idiots indeed are accountable for their actions and should man up and face them.

Let anyone else out there, who has similar ideas, learn from this. You want to be an ass with no respect, you will be treated like an ass and without respect.

I'm not unsympathetic to this argument, but even disrespectful ass holes have constitutional rights. If employers and the public want to shun these fools, I say good. But that's different from government taking action here.

No one is addressing why this may look good to the same people - MILLIONS OF THEM - that just set aside a day to honor the top Klansman! Is there a reason for this?

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/nathan-...on-2019-07-12/

"Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee signed a proclamation declaring July 13 Nathan Bedford Forrest Day. Forrest was a Confederate general, slave trader and an early leader of the Ku Klux Klan. "

Explain why these guys wouldn't be honored similarly? Forest used murder, violence and intimidation...just like they are promoting.

If we look back in 10 years chances are these dudes will have a job with the GOP somewhere. Really! IMHO.

If anyone can carefully explain why the same people who honor Forest with a holiday wouldn't look kindly upon these dudes....be my guest.

My take is that decent Americans don't understand either history....nor the present. What makes a current Gov. of a state do such things? Obviously there is a LOT of support for it.

To be fair, the TN governor was required to issue such a proclamation under a longstanding state law. The law should be changed, but this isn't anything the governor had a choice over.

Posing with guns for school pictures, fraternities, etc., is an old Southern tradition. It is not illegal to take a picture of a gun. However, it they violated the school's policy, then they need to be held accountable. Bottom line, if you want freedom, go off campus to get it.

Stupid is as stupid does. They posted their faces on social media brandishing riffles and smiling widely beside a memorial for a child that was lynched after they vandalized it.

Good thing their faces are all over internet so any prospective employers can pass on those disrespectful dudes.

Taking pictures of guns is not "brandishing". Brandishing is defined state by state and is a legal term when someone THREATENS YOU with a gun. Were they stupid? Yes, as they possible violated the rules of the University. Being "disrespectful" may be stupid, but it is not ILLEGAL.

I thought the left supported freedom of speech. Guess NOT!
