Reality is that not 1/4 black people are going to jail for regular crimes let alone violent crimes, 3 or 2 in 4 is such a gross overestimate that it’s basically useless. If we are talking about burglaries, robberies, drug dealers rather than shoplifting or drug using, the figure is probably somewhere like 1/20 or even less but still way too high.
Which means a way high number are considered criminals. Some say 90%. Some say 1/20. Whatever way the math works, it always comes out the same. The argument continues with blacks being the cause of white people reacting with suspicion. Some might even say a white person has every right to react first with distrust and perhaps pull a gun without question. This means in many cases, simply being black and 'out of place' equals being guilty of criminal behavior.
I can usually smell a rat in these situations that don't add up.
In this case, the kids had their jerseys on and were out fund raising for their team. If one was up to no good, you would not do so:
a. during the day
b. wearing your highschool jersey
c. go unarmed or without means to handle such a situation
It seems like it was someone who was a little off their rocker just doing something crazy. The only time you pull a gun you better be prepared to shoot, and that is only in a situation in which your life, or that of a family member, is threatened.
If you don't want to donate- just don't. We live in a gated community in which we NEVER get solicitors of any form. However, we do get the highschool or junior high kids out fundraising for something or another. For Christ's sake- if a kid is willing to get out there and work for their group, give them some cash. Some of the kids from lower income areas specifically come to our neighborhood, as they know we will fork over cash. I think that is just being smart, as they know it is going to be higher yield for their efforts.

It is common for young thugs to disguise themselves as students - or claim to be students - and knock on doors with some request. What they are really looking for is an empty home.
The same reason the portrayed Trayvon Martin as a young child rather as an adult. They seem more innocent when referred to as children. I'll bet there is more to this story than meets the eye.

One must confess to having thoughts of blasting Jehovah witnesses that just can't take no for an answer. Then there was that Obama campaign volunteer that called me a racist because I wouldn't allow my property to be used for campaign purposes. Don't worry the person was a white man.
In this case a crazy woman for whatever her demented reason, pulled a gun on 4 teens. She is being held accountable. What exactly is the controversy?
An ugly woman - inside and out. Yet another reason never to live in Arkansas.
Where would you suggest? Which city or state has no crazy residents?
BTW, black teens are probably safer in Arkansas than Chicago.
