At least with this idea everyone is treated the same and its not just socialism for some.

How a VAT Works

A VAT is levied on the gross margin at each point in the manufacturing-distribution-sales process of an item. The tax is assessed and collected at each stage, in contrast to a sales tax, which is only assessed and paid by the consumer at the very end of the supply chain.

Special Considerations

There's been much debate in the U.S. about replacing the current income tax system with a federal VAT. Advocates claim it would increase government revenue, help fund essential social services and reduce the federal deficit. Most recently, a VAT has been advocated by Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang.
PS: tax on consumption, not on income ... I can control consumption, but I can't control the government taking money out of my check.

I understand how taboo UBI is.

But I what kind of intrigued me is when he said "capitalism but nobody starts at 0".

But you automatically assume the mindset of someone based on what they vote. There's over a billion people in the world and you only know a handful..

And people are complex. You might have dems who have conservative traits visa-versa. conservatives who support gay marriage or even conservative gays etc.

You can't lump people into groups.

It doesn't matter, there are some people you just can't help, not matter how much you try. 20/20 is hindsight and only in hindsight do people realize the mistakes they have made. Of course by then, much of the time its too late ... Que será, será

PS: I'll give him this, at least he tried.

Yes I assume people who vote for a party that constantly and mainly peddles anti-white rhetoric and policies have an anti-white mindset.

True but I'm talking about blatant rhetoric from party leadership and blatant policies in the platform.

Uh-huh.

It means, "We'll start with the amount of money we take from people who earned it."

In other words, we'll steal it.

That lets us pretend "our starting point is above zero".... as long as you ignore the fact that the people we stole it from (taxpayers) will now start with a negative amount.

That’s what our government does.

Nobody is "taking your money" when you voluntarily surrender it to the Government in the form of taxes.
