Eliminate official political parties, or at least have more than 2.

Two is the worst possible number of parties; it promotes binary thinking and a very adversarial approach to winning (more focused on making the OTHER guy look bad.)

3+ or no parties forces candidates to actually focus on their own attributes and why they'll help the country. It's much more constructive than the catfight/brawl that politics is today.

Then that shows how badly that rule is needed. It's really annoying watching those debates, because it becomes a contest of who's the loudest rather than who demonstrates the most reason.

Are you talking about public discourse, like on C-D? Or do you mean in Washington DC?

In any event, despite the large amount of print on this topic in the papers I am not sure there is a problem, at least not a new problem. Politics here, and in fact everywhere, has always been a nasty business. Fist fights in the House, duels, yellow journalism, vituperation, slander, lies .... none of it is new.

Read history books - the only administration this country has had that was not either on the attack or on the defense was that of George Washington. The next President - John Adams - suspended the 1st Amendment with the Alien and Sedition Act he was so tired of being attacked in the press. Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton attacked each other ruthlessly in the press. And it has not stopped since then except in times of war. Well, except for the Vietnam war, during which things were pretty nasty as I recall.

I really doubt that it will change. It is part of our tribal nature as humans to defend our own tribe and attack the other one. Just learn to live with it.

Bring back duels, or implement steel cage matches to settle disputes or something.

I would add the maximum age of a politician would be 70. At age 71, any politician would be forced to resign.

Disband the MSM because it is hopelessly and irreparably biased in favor of Democrats. Also ban social media.

Send liberals to tolerance and diversity (of thought) workshops.

stop paying any attention to left wing news sources/talking heads/politicians since all they do is promote hate, racism, and bigotry..then they project and try to say Trump is responsible or the all the things they are the ones actually promoting. The Democrats are the ones that has s made talking about politics a very uncivil thing to do("We are going to impeach the ****" (squad member) "If you see a supporter getting gasoline--get a crowd and tell them they are not welcome(mad Max).

I would imagine a miss America pageant and a contestant saying she was for world peace and ending hunger.

Meaningless sound bites.

However, I would insist the media resign as the hate and fear mongering socialist democrat's official propaganda machine and take up its responsibility as a free press.

That would pretty much end all unprecedented hate and fear mongering and bring some sanity to harry reid style justified lie strategy to forward a political agenda.
