WASHINGTON (AP) — Senate Democrats are moving on two fronts to block President Donald Trump from using special emergency powers to transfer money from military base construction projects like new schools to pay for new fences along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Trump already tried to get congress to fund it but the Democrats as usual blocked it. If Defense funds aren't also for defending and securing our own border then what are they for?

No, it's not "mathematically impossible". It's simply a matter of how many are working on it. But he doesn't need to get it built within 4 years, he just needs to get the guaranteed contracts awarded.
So his successor can promptly cancel them in 2021. Sounds productive.
The ones cheering the hardest now are going to be the ones squealing like stuck pigs when the next Democratic president follows precedents set by Trump. Just watch.

Securing our borders is one of the top two jobs of the federal government, and the left doesn't even want 1% of our tax revenue spent on it.
We have more than enough money to spend on a border barrier. Cut off all UN funding, and boom, 1/3 of that $5 billion.
I'm very concerned about our spending, which is why I support saving tax money soaked up by illegals.
You might believe you can save a couple hundred dollars a year not changing the oil in your car, but you'll pay a lot more.
It can be undone by the executive branch AND by Congress.
