democrats today are changing the course of history but, NOT by using any compassion. My dad's democrat party is gone.

Who would have thought it would be republicans trying to uphold the constitution and the democrats trying to destroy a president who cares about the constitution.

See how easy that is?

Make no mistake, this is absurd and obvious. And disgusting.
No modern president has ever vilified black Americans and sought to divide people along racial lines like OBAMA!

Your youtube link doesn't work. I fixed it for you. Mattehws tries to interupt and after he stopped Ron Paul read him the rules based on property rights. At least Matthews backed off.

Being against Jim Crow is the same reason to be against government involvement in the private sector as far as discrimination. Government cannot violate the rights of the property owners by forcing them to work for, or hire someone a certain way. Having property rights, the property owner has the right to discriminate and having property rights the property owner has the right to not discriminate. Jim Crow took that last part away. The property owner was forced to discriminate.
You cannot discriminate in the public sector as that violates equal protection. Everyone pays into the system.

We can all agree that we don't like discrimination but there is a way to fight it and you don't do it by violating rights. The idea was to use Civil Disobedience like what we saw in the Civil Rights marches. The tide had already turned because people took a stand. Government came along after the fact.
"You cannot discriminate in the public sector as that violates equal protection." which is why Affirmative Action is in direct VIOLATION of the Equal Rights Act!

Well yes back then but the parties flipped 180 degrees, why are the past important today. Take a good look at the republicans particularly in the Deep South.

Why is 1863 important, seems like a desperate attempt to dismiss their current track record.

The cognitive dissonance of conservative republicans on this issue is positively astounding.

In the very same breath they will talk about the republicans freeing the slaves and that the Civil War was about "states rights" and not slavery.

One second they are talking about how evil the slave holding democrats were and how they would still hold slaves today if they could... and the next second they are doggedly defending statues of these same slave holding democrats spouting "heritage not hate".

You mean that Act that the Democratic president highly promoted? The Senate vote in favor of the Civil Rights Act is as follows:

-Democratic Party: 153

-Republican Party: 136

The GOP is now the party of neo-Confederates
