How can we cancel 'cancel culture'? (attorney, controversial, Canada, revolution)

I keep seeing people say how bad cancel culture is but they aren't saying how we can do it. I think it started in 2007 when Don Imus got fired. I was appalled that he got fired for telling jokes. Are there any laws that could be passed to end it? I think strengthening free speech on college campuses would help. I read the Goldwater Institute proposed laws a few years ago:

You cannot beat the cancel culture by making new laws. We already have laws against destroying public property, does that prevent the mob from destroying things. The laws will not be enforced and potentially used against you.
To cancel cancel culture, you will need an opposing force that is as strong as cancel culture. For instance, Facebook lost 7 billion in advertisment because of a boycott from the left. The right would never been able to organize something similar.
Conservatives should build up alternatives that cannot be boycotted or controlled and then when the backlash arrives, which it will, then there is nothing the left can do to stop conservatives from cancelling cancel culture.
Socialists are the ones pushing cancel-culture, but it is a byproduct of capitalism. Ironically, conservatives are the ones who created this problem, and they deserve to suffer.

That is just putting a bandage on a wound. It does very little to actually stop them.
The real battle to regain control over business, institutions and social media. When a left wing boycott leads to companies apologizing and firing people and right wing boycott leads to nothing, then you know you have a problem.

Cancel culture exist in all kind of countries from China under the culture revolution to ISIS.
Cancel culture do not need captalism to destroy statues or censor speech.
Let me be very clear here, and you need to understand this, that cancel culture is a result of SOCIAL MEDIA.
Social media has given the mob a voice, and the strength to enforce the groupthink views of the collective. Modern companies must pander to this mob, because they maximize profit by appealing to the largest common denominator. So what happens is that when someone falls into the crosshairs of the mob, the corporation is given an ultimatum:
"either ex-communicate the heretic, or we will make YOU the heretic and ex-communicate YOU"
How do you go about solving this problem? Man there is no easy solution, but the heart of the problem is social media. We need to find a way to reduce its influence
Can it be stopped? It looks like a runaway train.
