Now that we know we cannot live w/in this system, because we are inept, why not simplify it? We can't keep it the same.

There is only way method to make a wholesale change to the system of government when the government likes things the way they are. You willing to be an agent of that method of change?

The farther the populace gets away from being a just and moral people, and the more control we allow the federal government, the more of a failure our government will be. An F-16 is a failure at the hands of an incompetent pilot.

Must we reach collapse first?

If I had enough like-minded committed people around me, yes I would.

It would be better if it were a person with no family whatsoever though, because they'll go after every family member. I' send mine out of the country, and to a place w/o a U.S. extradition agreement, before I began.

Pretty much, and go ahead and work the sequence of necessary events in your own head.

Right now, you have 536 corrupt-ocrats running things with their faceless thugocracy of bureaucrats that number more than a million. They possess a monopoly on force and violence, they possess the monopoly on making, enforcing and adjudicating the laws any way they please, and they like things just the way they are.

We know the last statement is true because they spend tens, sometimes hundreds of $millions to get jobs that pay less than $200k annually. It is insanely profitable to be a lowly public servant who gets to wield that monopoly like a drunk teenager with Dad's gun and VISA card.

Filter down a level, and every state has the same construct, and while not as profitable, still a very financially rewarding career path. And then filter down again to the town/neighborhood level, and same thing.

None of these folks who own and operate the levers of power want to lose their ability to basically print money and amass personal fortunes. That is power nobody will ever give up willingly, and voting new people in to that system does nothing but corrupt new people into being the same corrupt-ocrats you have right now.

So what FORCES someone to relinquish power? Hmm....

Seems like someone, or a large group of someones, would need to present a "compelling case" for the corrupt-ocrat to abandon that power in favor of the "new system" you seek. Now, given that the corrupt-ocrat can already print money as they see fit and can write a law tomorrow that may as well read "give money to me because I said so", what sort of compelling argument do you think would make them walk away from that? Take your time...it will come to you...

Now, you may actually be pondering all sorts of possibilities, but my next advice would be to examine...uhm...ALL OF RECORDED HISTORY...for some guidance on how sweeping changes, overhauls and/or replacements of governing systems have occurred. There is a pretty undeniable and observable pattern. You'll see it...

And it’s the feds right on down to the local mayor. Something needs to be done. We need to somehow take back control of our lives and our government, all of it, and put it in its place.
The government is ours, not the other way around.
I would accept some level of intrusion IF they were doing a nice job of running America, but they are not.

They are failing us miserably, & doing everything they can to divide and conquer us, & in that, they are succeeding.

We must come together to downsize DC, or face tyranny. If we fail to act, its just a matter of time before it all collapases.

And it is this mentality that dooms us to stay on this particular ride until it does indeed collapse. Not singling you out, since 99.9% of the population thinks exactly the same way, but that above quote is what allows 536 old people without half a brain among them to effectively control 330 million people, 150 million of whom are armed.

Because you accept their tyranny if it somehow works for you. Like I said, you share that viewpoint with 99.9% of the population, so no insult intended, just stating a fact of how 536 old people who would probably get their arses kicked by 1st graders manages to oppress, rule and subjugate all of at will.

Agreed, which is why we must come together, rally around those documents, & downsize DC.

Instead of them regulating and controling us, we must turn the tables on them, and reduce their numbers, their budget, & theie legal reach.

We outnumber them by a wide margin, so we must insert our own candidates into both parties, and beat them from within the existing parties. 3rd party efforts have always failed, we don't want any violent revolution, or any loss of life. We can do this tactically, peacefully, and faster than most would believe.
