Winner winner chicken dinner. The truth be told, the Democrats took in more dark money this past election cycle than the Republicans. We the people matter little to both sides. It's the mega rich that run this country.
Why are Biden's approval ratings low? In part because of the disinformation still effecting the rubes that want to believe what they want to believe and the media that spoon feeds it on both sides for profits.
How many times did we hear that Trump was an illegitimate president? Did Russia interfere in our election in favor of Trump? Yes they did. Did it influence votes? Yes it did. Trump was legitimately elected under our system, but it was a corrupt, amoral, un-American way to elect anybody. Putin actually did win. It's all in the Mueller report for anyone that wants to see the truth. Some people will just not care about it, others will see it as a victory because of the tribalism and over look the corruption.
Was Biden elected under the same system? Yes he was. Did the supreme court reject Trump's attempts to remain the president? Yes they did. Did Bill Barr say there was no evidence of wide spread election fraud that would effect the outcome of the election? Yes he did. Yet, there are those that still embrace the lie that the election was stolen. Why do people live with this? Because they want to believe what they want to believe and it is reinforced on both sides of the media. Money talks.
Biden's approval ratings are low because of the lies that the immigrants are flooding our country at the Southern boarder spreading Covid. Never mind that Biden kept Trump's Title 42 policy on the Southern boarder in place to expel migrants and a federal judge just over turned it. Read Politico: "Biden blocked from expelling migrant families using Title 42."
We have a huge antivax movement here in the United States. That means that there are tens of millions that are not vaccinated. How many people crash our border looking for asylum every year? That matters less than how many are let in annually and in 2021, there was 11,411 with a cap of 62,500. In a country of roughly 330 million? That's nothing. So who is really fueling Covid? American's who are not doing the right thing. But hey. It's a great political strategy to blame those immigrants and the lie that Biden is allowing them to flood our border. It works, which is disturbing because it makes those of us that believe the rhetoric look like a bunch of uninformed rubes.
People would rather believe feckless politicians than trust health care providers about vaccines. I'm sure by now we all know someone who was seriously sick with Covid or in the hospital. (Yes I really do know a younger plumber who worked for us that was in the hospital with Covid. I was accused of lying about this in another thread. If anyone wants proof send me a private message.)
Inflation is tanking Biden's poll numbers as well. The bottom line is that it's always the presidents fault when things go wrong in our country. Inflation didn't start under Biden, but it did worsen under Biden. What is the Feds job? Keep inflation under control and maximize employment. Who is head of the fed? Jerome Powell appointed in 2018.
Biden is too old. He is not as sharp as someone in their 40's and 50's, and that's a problem. Can he handle the job? That narrative is an easy lift. There's a whole lot of people out there that believe that he is senile. It's definitely plausible.
Biden's approval ratings are low because the messaging is weak. Business Insider has a good article: "Biden's biggest accomplishments and failures in his first year as president."
It's a pretty balanced article. Biden is neither the greatest president we've ever had nor the worst. He's a decent man that's just too old for the job.
