I would consider such a candidate.

But also skeptical of dismissing the Dems as being run by the radical left. Biden was the most boring moderate conservative choice and they haven’t done much of anything with the power they won last election.

I don't believe that to be the case here. If you refer to OP's posts on this forum that is not something I would accuse OP of.

As the the premise of the thread, I have longed believe it to be the case that whichever of the two major parties wakes up first and realizes that it is alienating a majority of the electorate, which tends toward the center, then that will be the party that wins the presidency in 2024.

There's always the stay at home choice, which is kind of a vote.

Agreed. Remember that in Arizona in 2020, Sienma ran as a progressive. But lo and behold she turned out to be a DINO.

Well Biden says he's running again so I think you could put anyone up under the R ticket and win.

Let's say the Republicans candidate is not a Trumpster...like Niki Haley (who says "Trump has no future role in the GOP"):

note: If the RNC dumps Trump, former Trump voters will still vote Republican imho. What are they going to do... vote for a radical leftist liberal Dem? Or, stay home and let the radical left continue their march towards socialism? No way...nearly all of them will vote Pub.
Since my foolish youthful decision to vote for Reagan back in 1980, the Republicans have constantly and continuously worked to erode any trust in their leadership. In the last few decades they have became more and more radical until today they are a clear and present danger to the survival of our Republic.

So even if they brought a perfectly reasonable candidate in 2024, it's very unlikely many will jump over to vote for them - because they have lost the trust of any Centrist or Independent at this point. Even if the candidate is a reasoned moderate, it's clear that the rest of the party will continue to be devoted to the goal of instituting one-party rule and dumping our Constitution into the trash.

And that is being done by Democrats today. Thankfully SCOTUS stepped in and rectified it.

I highly doubt moderate dems will cross over.

Whomever the R's pick will face the same onslaught of claims of racism, mysoginy, rape etc. that got swung at guys like Biden, Beto and Buttigeig....by the likes of Warren and Harris lol.

I just don't see moderate D's (or R's) crossing over.

Now actual unaffiliated moderates sure could so perhaps that's what the OP means but they can't wrap their heads around everyone not being either D or R.
