The situation isn't anything to worry about as long as Taiwan doesn't foolishly retaliate with missiles to destroy any major dam in China. Then China might respond with nuclear attacks upon Taiwan.

It doesn't make sense that NP visited other surrounding countries on her asian trip, including CCP's TW, but skipped the superpower in the region, CCP's china--without paying respect to emperor Xi on her knees...i understand why CCP is upset/mad...

question is: why didn't NP visit China? If she did, that might have eased the strained sino-US relationship and helped stabilize the world geopolitical situation.

It appears more and more clear that the US ruling party is trying to stir up more geopolitical conflicts instead of bringing peace to the world as their propaganda pushes...

Let's see, biden and the dems have reduced the military, chased out experienced leadership and are now poking sticks in the cage of china, russia, NK, iran to stir up a hornets' nest, to hand over to repubs in November.

Pelosi lit the fuse, she is about to bail, and biden has served his purpose and will be removed from office in some unique way that will increase sympathy for dems.

Repubs just can't wait to open up their free prize from the dems in november. Boom!

Communism doesn’t work unless its leaders can make examples of individuals who are disobedient. They will sacrifice their own people for that cause. Putin will gladly sacrifice another 30,000 Russians to punish a sovereign nation for disobeying him. China will do the same to punish Taiwan for its disobedience. If people living under Communist rule don’t want Democracy and don’t value liberty and freedom sobeit, but blind obedience is not human nature.
There has to be something else. In Christianity; so the story goes, a woman disobeyed the ultimate authority and acquired knowledge.

It is conceivable that many Chinese don’t even know what has transpired in the last few days as they are kept in the dark on these matters and it is doubtful that Xi Jinping wants his people to know he was disobeyed and the West is not afraid of him. Albeit uncontrolled freedom and liberty is not conducive to a well-functioning society, but freedom and liberty are required for humans to grow creatively and intellectually.

Where are you getting this information. Biden authorized $768.2 billion in defense spending. And the senate Armed Service Committe endorsed another $45 billion. You are speaking from facts, or just old talking points you haven't updated yet.

China has suspended regular communication channels with the US military and bilateral climate change talks.

US special climate envoy John Kerry, who was due to meet with his Chinese counterpart again next month, said the decision “punishes the world”.

It was “disappointing and misguided”, and risked harming the developing world more than the US, he said in a statement. “The climate crisis is not a bilateral issue, it’s universal,” said Kerry, describing the consequences of the climate threat as “catastrophic” and beyond geopolitics and ideology.

Beijing said it would also no longer co-operate with Washington on a range of legal issues, including repatriation of illegal immigrants, drug trafficking and other crimes. It added that it was doing so because Pelosi’s visit had proceeded “in disregard of China’s strong opposition and serious representations”.

Another Victory for America and the world.

As for Taiwan, everyone knows the US will just do another Ukraine and stay out of it, and China now has the island surrounded.

Well done Nancy, all of the grandstanding and nothing to show for it.

They have sure let little old Nancy Pelosi throw them into a hissy. Meanwhile, the world has moved on and they are still acting like a spoiled brat who couldn't have it their way, I didn't know she had that much power over them. They made all those threats and didn't follow through, now they can't get Nancy out of their heads.

Yeah I would say that’s accurate.

China and Russia are a good reason why the military industrial complex exists.

I see Turkey is about to increase economic cooperation with Russia.

Pelosi upset the Turks a few years back by comparing them to China and North Korea, as well as constantly siding with the Greeks.

Of course by upsetting the Turks you risk not being able to access the Black Sea. closure of US bases and ever closer Turkish links to Russia and China, but don't let that stop Nancy.

As for the Chinese they are just being pushed further in to a relationship with Russia and Iran.

In terms of China, life is cheap and like Russia they are willing to take massive casualties.

The US by contrast has already shown it's weakness in terms of Afghanistan, which was the biggest US disaster since Vietnam.

Personally I suggest the US doesn't provoke China.

As for Britain, Pelosi has been told to mind her own business, in relation to Brexit and the NI Protocol.

Thankfully Pelosi is being kept away from the middle east where different Islamic groups are increasingly squaring up against each other. with a 'Sunni crescent' to including Israel set to oppose the 'Shiite crescent' being built by Iran.

Iran has close links to China and Russia, whilst the West will be backing the Sunni nations and Israel, so no prospect of a world war there then.

I am sure if you send Nancy she might be able to broker a world war.
