Take your pick.
She probably wouldn't have gone had the potential trip not been leaked either by her staff or the White House. Once it was out in the open that a trip was being considered, and the Chinese started strutting bloviating, she had no choice but to go.

And then the White House had to sort of object because "they're a different branch of government". Too bad they didn't realize there are 3 co-equal branches when they were criticizing the Supreme Court so openly.

And Beijing was stupid enough to fall for it.

I was watching it live on television they seemed really happy to have her there.

Pelosi received a rapturous welcome in Taipei, was applauded with strong bipartisan support in Washington, despite the Biden administration’s misgivings. But her trip has enraged Beijing and Chinese nationalists..

I don't know who China thinks they are to tell Americans and people from other countries, where they can and cannot go and what they can or cannot do.

Nonsense. This trip had bipartisan support. More than 2 dozen Republicans also supported Pelosi's trip to Taiwan.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and 25 other Republican senators released a joint statement on Tuesday praising Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) visit to Taiwan minutes after she landed on the island.

Let's say China decided to send some CCP stooge to Puerto Rico along with weapons and a promise of military help in order to achieve victory against the USA and make the island independent... And Biden told them not to go, but they went anyways, how would you feel? Do you feel the Biden administration would be a little ticked off about it?

Seems like something similar happened in Cuba, which wasn't even the USA's territory although we did try to overthrow it's government, and the American people were mighty ticked about it...

Whatever happened to "Who cares what the rest of the world thinks?" that we saw on this board a thousand times while Trump was in office?

China does not dictate the movements of an American citizen traveling outside China. Period. End of sentence.

Pelosi was packing heat in Taiwan? Wow. The things you learn on C-D...

Of course. They flow over escorted by fighter jets. They have already given lots of weapons to Taiwan in the past, as well as money, and plenty more will be going over there in the future. I would guess that was one of the topics discussed while Pelosi was over there.

Except China doesn't see it that way at all. They have claimed Taiwan as theirs and most of the world acknowledges the "one China" policy. Democrats in the past have also stated Taiwan technically belongs to China.

If Democrats want to make a stink over Taiwan, than at least grow a pair and tell them that we will treat it like an independent country instead of jumping back and forth on the issue when it's politically adventitious.

Surprised to see very vocal support from some Republicans for her visit.

Exactly. Just imagine any representative just shows up in the US. It’s not done. In fact there’s a request diplomatic travelers must submit for approval first before stepping into another country- some require visas.
