Health care workers who were fired for not getting a COVID shot have won a major victory. The Liberty Counsel has announced a “historic” $10.3 million settlement in the nation’s first-of-its-kind classwide lawsuit.
The class action settlement against NorthShore University HealthSystem is on behalf of more than 500 current and former health care workers who were unlawfully discriminated against and denied religious exemptions from the COVID shot mandate, according to the non-profit religious rights law firm.
…
As part of the settlement agreement, NorthShore will pay $10,337,500 to compensate hundreds of health care employees.
NorthShore will also change its unlawful “no religious accommodations” policy to make it consistent with the law, and to provide religious accommodations in every position across its numerous facilities. No position in any NorthShore facility will be considered off limits to unvaccinated employees with approved religious exemptions.
In addition, employees who were terminated because of their religious refusal of the COVID shots will be eligible for rehire if they apply within 90 days of final settlement approval by the court, and they will retain their previous seniority level.
Hopefully the first in a string of the same. Maybe these nitwits will get a clue that not everyone is willing to be a guinea pig, nor should they be expected to.
I do have a question, however, and that is what kind of "proof" is needed to claim a religious exemption? Does someone have to be a "registered" member of some church or whatever that does not believe in vaccines, or what?

My sincere wish is that each employer that required COVID vaccination is subjected to an extreme financial penalty or outright failure. I have no compassion for them.

Can anyone answer that?
No, you don't have to be registered with a church. I have a very strong philosophical and religious belief in bodily autonomy. I believe that God created us in his image, and that we have a duty to treat our bodies well. For me, in my beliefs, that means not putting an experimental "vaccine" in my body unless I am at severe risk from the disease the vaccine is supposed to prevent. Since I had Covid in April 2020, and came through it just fine, the "vaccine" fell into the category where it was unneeded.
Or other similar reasons would do. "Deeply held religious belief" is what you feel it is. You are not supposed to be questioned as to what that belief is in greater detail than the statement you provide.

Great news
About 20k on average for healthcare workers so seems pretty meagre in the big scheme of things.
