Good to see another independent thinker coming to the light. Black Republicans like him, Ben Carson, and Tim Scott will most certainly continue to make their presence known as more blacks get “woke fatigue” as they see the crime in neighborhoods continually go up.
Pretty simple, - Dallas is a Dem city, so you run as a Dem to get elected, and then flip. Although......I believe in Dallas mayors are required to run unaffiliated, so not sure what this flip means.

Either way, TX is a red State, so why not. Its strange in the sense that you run as one thing, and when you are elected you identify as something else. Not sure how the voters feel about it, but what do I care. I don't live there, and never will.

What you want for you and your family and that you vote accordingly is what we all want and need so based on that it is not selfish as those things are for the common good. What is selfish is desiring things that "only" benefit you and your family such as an amnesty because of ethnic ties or desiring socialism for you and yours while the rest of us have to pay for it. There are other things that are selfish to but these are two that come to mind.

Aww, that's sweet. He took the bait. Large amounts of money can get people to do all sorts of things.

Its not that we necessarily need more Republicans but we do need less America hating, divisive Democrats.
