Companies do this all the time (Oh we're sorry can you please come back we don't know what the hell we are doing) too and it just shows how short-sighted and they are as well. THey should have succession planning in place way prior to this so when one group retires, the next generation takes their spot. This seems to have stopped everywhere as have internal promotions.. Now everyone is just job hopping all over the place, clueless idiots gets hired in from outside the company, and you have a revolving door, a brain drain, and no one growing with the company.

Its failure from start to finish. This nation is finished

This is the Democrat's M.O. Create a problem and when you can't fix it, blame somebody else.

First the navy starts recruiting high school dropouts, and now the air force is begging old retirees to come back.

No one wants to serve under Brandon anymore.

Guess the states are taking all the national guards for border wars. But many do return when they are still in their 40’s.

I am going out on a limb and guess that the vast majority of military retirees are very happy to be mustered out and not taking abuse from the new modern woke military anymore with its mandatory Covid shots.

Sounds like a great idea. These people are already trained, experienced, and were successful enough to retire honorably.

This is voluntary. I would guess there are a number of successful military career people who miss the security and comradery of the military.
Your statement reminds me of this cartoon:

Anyways, why do we need more active personnel? Are we expecting a war?
