At the moment, I have 6. Thinking of hitting the gun show at Cashman this weekend though - might pick up another.

How many do you have?

Where do you people live, that you have to turn your house into an armed fortress? I've lived in 14 states, and never felt any need to own a gun. How lucky do you have to be to go to 14 different places, and never hit a single one where you need to defend yourself with a gun. The odds must be astronomical.

I have never known one single person who had a gun because he needed one, but did not like guns and did not want to own one. Doesn't that seen a little bit odd?

I get a feeling that the people who love guns all need them, but people who don't love guns don't need them at all. It's almost enough to make me feel like nobody really needs a gun. Like coffee. Nobody needs coffee except people who love coffee. .

Its the same principal: Gang A owns guns, so Gang B has to own them too.

The next door neighbour has one or two, so you have to have the same or more. I think you may find that AMERICAN CITIZENS OWNING GUNS OUTNUMBERS THE NUMBER OF WEAPONS THAT THE AMERICAN MILITARY POSESSESS.

So what? What business is it of yours if some of the rest of us want to feel safer?

Well just because someone owns alot of guns it doesn't mean they are making it a "armed fortress" in their mind.It could be that they just enjoy and collecting them. But as long as they don't use them to intrude on somebody else what does it matter what or how many they have? And remember your definition of need is different than someone else even if you don't agree.

I don't know of any people, animals or road signs that need to be shot.
There's a lot of hunting going on where you live.

I lost count. I enjoy collecting and shooting them. If a person happens to break in and endanger my life, or attack me when I'm away from home (since I always carry one) they will find out they picked the wrong person.

The police have NO duty to rpotect you. The SCOTUS has declared repeatedly since the 1850's right up to the present that citizens are responsible for their own protection. The chances may be low that I'll ever need to use one on a person, but if I'm ever in danger, I will have the tool that could save my life. I suspect you've also never spent much time in the woods have you? Ever have a bear wander through camp in the middle of the night? A porcupine wander into your tent? Makes you either glad to have a gun, or wish you had one...oh I also hunt too. I'll be living in grizzly, wolf, wolverine and moose country soon, and the closest police will be hours away and I won't have a phone to call them anyways, I will not be unarmed one moment while in the wilderness.

I hope I never need to use one, but it's there if I do need to.
