It's time to "relabel" this lot. We all use different phrases for them. Sometimes they are;
Right wing nut jobs
Wing nuts
Religious fanatics
Flat earthers
Anti-science
Chronically stupid
Anti intellectual
etc.
I'd like to commission a project right here on C-D to come up with an easy to use shorthand to describe them. Something that can't be misinterpreted as insulting to religious (be kind to others and mind your own f'ng business) people, does not belittle parts of aircraft.
Among some friends last night I heard some suggestions
Palinites
Rushannities
Destroyers of the "real" Republican party
Chronically p***** off
Victims of their own stupidity.
I'm leaning toward Rushannities, but I hate to give any kind of pub to those two morons and their rantings on the radio.
What say you C-D?

I think your're wasting your time. You must have too much time on your hands.
I think this is a real possibility - two separate right wing parties. I'll bet it's being seriously talked about. Because what we think of as "the base" are not the old school fiscal conservative Republicans - what my father called Eisenhower Republicans. Pro-education, pro-diplomacy, small federal government - lot of local government. Ron Paul supporters?
The base is more, you could say, concerned with social conservativism - the Christian Right, Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich "Contract with America" folks - more emotion-driven. I think they might be a larger group than the old-school lot - not sure but they're definitely more vocal. I could see both Clintons over here.
The old school Republicans - dying out?
What is so wrong with social conservatism? The idea that morality isn't just some big huge mass of gray is not a dying idea in our world. That things have a definite black and white is a proud trademark of conservatism.
Basebots? Maybe Basebores after you've heard the exact same hijacked argument out of one of them for like the fourth time today...quite the original group, all in all...

Doesn't go with the drapes over at my house, so keep it all within your own legitimate personal domain, okay...

I'm sorry murdering babies is accepted in many of your worlds, but where I come from we have black and white issues. You are either right or wrong. There is no such thing as gray on many moral issues.

Infanticide has been a recognized practice in many cultures and societies, but not in this one. Your religion and/or your dreams are all that lead you to your position on abortion (not the topic of this thread), but I do not share either, and my established right to reject both trumps your imagined right to impose any of it upon me. Keep it all over at your house, thank you. We already have things quite under control over at mine...
