I agree, but only up to a point.

You have to have enough food. If people suspect you are hording it someone will find out where. If you aren't, there just isn't enough, the line of nothing to lose may come.

In most places where famine occures, the food never gets anywhere near those who would be controlled since its stolen and sold for guns. They are simply controlled by terror.

Google American concentration camps... you'll have to go to where the food is, get your chip and wait in line. Sounds crazy... yes it does... but check it out and decide for yourself.

I've seen that. Scary.

This does not preclude some of the displaced citizenry taking matters into their own hands. Food riots too.

What is so spooky is this is exactly the background of a star trek fan fiction I wrote ten years ago about a small colony under Occupation during Starfleets war with the Dominion. The id with chips followed by implantation when people don't behave. Rationing and the control of a population by food (in this case they cannot get to the stash) and the evertightening rules.

It gets into how those "appointed" to deal with running the colony deal with it and other issues too. Wonder if we'll ever get to that?

Guns and ammo great equalizer, the government is only as good as it's control of the weapons.

Well, then this "rumor" that Obama has put up the USA as collateral for our debts to China (meaning that if China considered Hawaii and California fair payment for what we owe China, then China could legally "foreclose on every single piece of real estate in those states) seems to be all the more truthful, in the sense that it is no rumor at all, but a bonafide agreement between the two countries, with individual and business landowners in those states the eventual losers.

1964.... we had 15 billion dollar worth of gold. We owed 27 billion..... The debt of a nation is slightly different than the debt of a private person.

Actually, Fort Knox depository only holds 147.3 million ounces of gold. Pursuant to the Coinage Act of 1792, et seq, that computes to approx. 2.9 billion dollars (lawful money).

What the price of gold, in terms of "Dollar bills" (Federal Reserve notes) is not applicable. Since 1933, FRNs are worthless (no par value), and are actually less than zero (minus value).

The national debt, denominated in dollars, IS a big problem. That computes to an obligation to pay the creditor 500 billion ounces.

We be boned.

Slow moving, gaining momentum over a 20 year span, at least.

Well, here we are fast forwarded, and it's a....meltdown...with one foot on an iceblock. It's serious, but we can overcome this. I, for one, am not supporting any corporations who have no sympathy for the plight of the common man. Hell with them. Big corportations are trying to rule the whole world, and vampirize each one of us in order to maintain their chokehold on POWER, and MONEY. They are shallow, and not worthy of our support, or respect. Lets hear it for the common man and woman ! Yay ! the salt of the earth ! (hear the happy dramatic music swelling in the background ?)

HOHOHOHOHOHOOOOOOOO wow are you frigging funny. Winter is almost here pal. My 14 yr old daughter can shoot a fly Ass out at 300 meters with an AR, not to mention my Vet son! OH Did I forget to mention the wife just loves laying down sustained fire from my RPK? If you don't think us dumb cracker country folks are planning for this you better think again...You do realize us military vehicle collectors just don't have this stuff just for show? The Ferret might be 40 yrs old but when your enemy has no armor even a light armor scout car becomes a Tiger tank!!!!

P.S. FYI... Hogs will eat any kind of meat......Chapter 4 in the Manual
