Republicans are in the crap because they did the opposite the last 8 years. No leadership, no standing on principle. They bent over backwards and lost their backbone and they ended up more hated than ever, including from the conservative base.

Totally clueless. It's amazing to watch, actually.
And what did you find particuarly hateful from the campaign? Is this your first year being interested in politics? But then again this century is only 9 years old, so it does not really matter what you say..

I suspect that as usual, the Democrats will try to overextend themselves soon enough, and eventually lose like they always do.

It looks like another $500 billion is about to be pushed through Congress and approved by Obama:

Democrats boosting domestic spending atop stimulus (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090225/ap_on_go_co/congress_spending - broken link)

I suspect spike in the inflation rate that is about to decent upon us will not go over well for the Democrats. You cannot throw money at the problem of inflation, it would be interesting to see what plan is conjured up to deal with it...

I think the collapse will still be deep enough that a drop in both commercial and domestic real estate as well as stock prices and foreign investment will cancel out any inflationary pressure created by this spending. Without the spending the deflationary forces created by the speculative bubble bursting would have dropped prices to less than 20% of pre crash levels with the incredible loss of equity. This spending will keep some money flowing through the economy until the real, not speculative, values are worked out.

Everyone polls. Including your beloved empty headed "leaders" in the R house and Senate. The difference is they're only listening to the polls that FNC is doing on their mouth breathing "base".

Could care less what the methodology is, how much of a saint the pollster is, how perfect the pollees are, whatever. You missed my point. Polls are a snapshot of a tiny group of people. Interesting to hear peoples point of view, but you don't lead from polls. Leadership is about taking a vision and a plan and getting people to follow you. Leadership isn't about chasing the sheep around.
