Thank God.

The Court also ruled that the same-sex "marriages" that were made before this ruling, remain married. Except for the ones that have already divorced. Which is quite a few more than opposite-sex marriages that have divorced, that were made during that period.

Just hear this on ABC radio in San Diego.

Wow. Score one for democracy. I'm actually a bit surprised.

First the voters opt to ban same-sex marriages and now the CA State Supreme Court upholds the ban. It would seem that proponents of this non-traditional marital status aren't actually the clear cut majority they believe themselves to be. Hopefully this will conclude all the inflammatory rhetoric and life will go on but I fear otherwise.

I was convinced the court would find some way to vacate the results of a legitimate vote.

I'm surprised.

I think those that were allowed to marry should not be able to hold a marriage license. Give them a civil union certificate with all the benefits and laws that are bestowed from a real marriage between a man and a woman.

But that's not what they are going to do, which really mucks things up. With other states making this legal and SOME people in CA already being legal it's just we are stuck half-in and half-out and that is NOT a place we can stay indefinitely.
