Actually it seems the AT doesn't go into SC,although I was sure it did over near Walhalla area...

Anyway since it seems it doesn't, it makes more sense that Sanford went to GA to start at the beginning....

Darn,that ruins another non issue by the leftists.

Wikipedia says no. Case closed. It's fairly close, though. Certainly closer to SC than to Atlanta. WTF was that clown doing in Atlanta, again?

The governor has no authority over the state budget? He can lobby the legislature, get his party to introduce bills he wants passed, and he can veto it. I don't know how schools are funded in SC, but in most states, state funds are a large portion of every district's budget.

I don't understand why the governor of South Carolina couldn't find a nice trail inside the borders of South Carolina and at least garner a little publicity and promote tourism while he makes a grab for national media attention.
