It's good to know we have an option for the 65 + crowd! Assisted suicide isn't that appealing.

Well if I were flying to the U.S. for expensive medical care, I don't believe I would be going to Phoenix Arizona.

Perhaps you missed the story about a dentist giving his patient aids...where was that. Oh yes that was in the United States.

Actually this happens all over the United States and not just Phoenix, Arizona. Many people have family that live in other countries and they bring them here to be treated by local physicians. But of course, since you aren't in medicine, you wouldn't know that.

Are you arguing that a person's risk of acquiring HIV from their physician equals the risk of a person acquiring Hepatitis through a transfusion in a third world country? Please tell you are not a lawyer?

You missed the jab. I was implying that I do not believe you. I will be less subtle next time.

do wut? Hawkeye's post was sarcastic. S/He may have enjoyed writing it but there was nothing in it to respond to. (Zero Mostel voice) This man should be in a straitjacket.

Well if you can receive the same quality with the same or better facilities and a free vacation. Sounds good to me.

[quote=hawkeye2009;9980929]I know that my livlihood is directly related to the expansion of health insurance by the Unions. I am GRATEFUL to the Unions for this and am actually a very pro-union republican. Those are probably hard to find. I was very anti-NAFTA and hate "outsourcing". It is a tragedy what Clinton and Bush did to the US.

I am not RESENTFUL of the insurance that a factory worker at John Deere gets- I am GRATEFUL. They ultimately pay us. That is why I am pro-union and buy american whenever I can. I don't think that most people know that the benefits that unions negotiated have resulted in the expansion of medicine and new technology in the US. I would much rather have everyone else have better insurance than me- I can afford it better and feel as though a factory line worker deserves all the benefits they can get. "Quote"

A lot of people would say being a republican and pro-union is inconsistant. Obviously you are intelligent.
Unlike so many, you vote for what is in your best interests. So many do not. YOu vote probably vote Republican because they are for lower taxes for the wealthy...You. You are pro-union because the union has better insurance, which means that you are more likely to get paid. Nothing wrong with that. I wish everyone would vote for their own interests instead of against them.

The biggest reason for people from overseas to go to America to see a Doctor is for Cosmetic Suregery. This is getting less now that many other Countries are becoming proficient In plastic surgery. You will always have people going abroad for certain mecical proceedures. Americans to Europe, Europeans to America Etc. Unfortunately America is now just sitting in the past with it's expensive, outdated and inefficient health service.
America used to be the Country that was constantly moving forward, it is now becoming the Country that is stuck in the past. The United Kingdom did exactly the same as the USA is doing now. When the UK "ruled the waves", it became complacent, stood still and became Dependant on overseas trade and nearly destroyed itself. America now "rules the waves" and is being taken over by overseas trade. America is now doing the same as the UK. The USA is now scared of trying new things and moving forward. The American motor industry is all but finished. The banks and insurance companies have all but destroyed the finances of America and the Health of America is about to become the "illness" that will destroy more Americans than it "cures".
Americans had a reputation of being real innovators.
Greed, corruption and self interest is now destroying America and good honest hard working Americans.
If The health system in America does not change drastically then Millions of Americans will, for the first time, look abroad with envy at other health systems.
