Ah...you are seriously saying that an ENTERTAINER is trying to save our country...
Do you really believe this?
Don't you think his message would change overnight, if the people he talks to wanted to hear something else?

As much as I like the messages that are represented on Sesame St., I don't consider Big Bird to be a saviour...get it?

It makes me feel quite sad that there are so many uneducated morons in this country, that the highest-rated shows on cable news networks are run by and hosted by liars and jokers such as Glenn Beck and Fox News. It makes me sad that the majority of cable news-watchers evidently are too stupid to be able to see past the obvious hate- and fear-mongering to realize that they are being duped by these rich and powerful jagoffs who honestly don't give two hoots about their idiot viewers, and are only looking out for their own bottom lines.

Unlike you, it does not make me giddy that the intelligent individuals in this country are far outnumbered by the ignorant. But go on, keep laughing. Too bad that Beck and the rest of his Fox cohorts are not laughing with you, but at you, while you and your fellow followers of stupidity continue to line their pockets.

Wow....look at all those nice words!
Attack the mesenger but don't address the issues he brings up. That seems to be typical.

Obama can say that he was mentored by cats who were Marxists and you don't address that. Instead you name-call the person who dares bring it up. Come on.....you're better than that.

I wasn't asked to address the "issues he brings up." My post was a direct response to another poster's question:

"How does that make you feel that what you consider a joke blows any liberal out of the running on ratings. Even a joke beats them?"

The poster asked how it makes some of us feel that Beck has higher ratings than the credible commentators/journalists, and I answered him honestly. A discussion of the issues was not germane to the question posed.

Reading comprehension not your strongsuit?

2. No, that's no act - he really is an idiot. And yes, he's not very funny.
Idiot? No more or less than any other American who has been indoctrinated for over 3 generations by the world's greatest propaganda ministry.

3. You have good instincts. He makes any rational person uncomfortable, especially given his influence on the segment of the population most eager to find someone to blame for their pathetic lives.
Pathetic lives? May be an accurate assessment for over 300 million voluntary slaves (human resources) pledged as collateral on the impossible national debt.

The big problem I have with Glenn Beck is not what he says or how he says it - I believe in the Constitution. The problem is that the vast majority of his audience don't know, or cannot comprehend, that Beck is NOT a journalist ... he is an entertainer. And because his audience does not have the reasoning capabilities to discern this crucial difference, they accept what he says as the truth, rather than what it is ... his own twisted opinion.
"Believe" in the Constitution? Have you read it? Completely? With all due respect, one does not "believe" in the Constitution. It is a compact for specific performance upon those who swear an oath to it. One should DEMAND specific performance to that compact.
"But, indeed, no private person has a right to complain, by suit in Court, on the ground of a breach of the Constitution. The Constitution, it is true, is a compact, but he is not a party to it. The States are the parties to it. And they may complain...."

I have to ask...is he for real? I mean it does look like a spoof, or like someone trying really hard to ACT like he's spoofing, but this is supposed to be serious? He makes funny noises, does silly voices, makes faces and mugs to the camera, does skits, etc.

I've seen Comedy Centrals shows (The Daily Show, Colbert Report) and I KNOW those are joke shows that touch on real issues, is Glen Beck's show satirical?
I regard him as the Colbert or Stuart for the Republicans. I believe when he yells and gets so passionate it comes off as bad acting and actually hurts the conservative cause.

I believe he has stated that he is "self-educated", a "recovering alcoholic", and had a family member that committed suicide. As a conservative, I wouldn't be mentioning any of these personal issues because it makes you appear like a hypocrite.

If you want a true conservative that doesn't bend it would have to be Rush L.

O"Reilly, I would label center-right politically and if you read some of his books you have to wonder if he is even conservative at all. The fact that the "left" labels O'Reilly as and extreme right really goes to show you that they are borderline communist and not Democratic at all.

The guy's a doofus!
I agree with that assessment. But then, most of us eventually grow up and realize that the dorks are actually pretty cool, and the people who stuffed them in the lockers were a$$holes. The ones who never outgrew their bully attitudes became cops.

In many of the threads I read on this forum, I get the impression that reading comprehension isn't ANYBODY'S 'strong suit' any more. That's why it's so easy for the pundits to completely twist to the point of mangling what's in the health care bills or the hate crimes bills - because people will read it and see exactly what the pundits have told them is in it instead of what is actually in it.
