And I'm not sure what to think. I've been reading so much about him and how people blame him for things so I figured I'd give him a look-see.
I have to ask...is he for real? I mean it does look like a spoof, or like someone trying really hard to ACT like he's spoofing, but this is supposed to be serious? He makes funny noises, does silly voices, makes faces and mugs to the camera, does skits, etc.
I've seen Comedy Centrals shows (The Daily Show, Colbert Report) and I KNOW those are joke shows that touch on real issues, is Glen Beck's show satirical?

NO, I think he's serious. Maybe he's trying to relate to the masses. I've watched his show 100's of times, and I still don't understand why he acts like that.
Beck is also a comedian like Colbert and incorperates it into his show. The issues he discusses are serious.
So it's a known comedy show then? He doesn't seem very funny since he is ACTING like an idiot. I'm kind of sensitive to certain types of "comedy" and they make me extremely uncomfortable. He made me uncomfortable.
He is like many recovering alcoholics..they suddenly find something to crusade about.
You are right about his show being like a "spoof" show but unfortunately some take him seriously and follow him.
The crying all the time got me reaching for my sick bag.

1. No, unlike the shows that are appropriately shown on Comedy Central, the Glenn Beck show is no comedy - it's a tragedy.
2. No, that's no act - he really is an idiot. And yes, he's not very funny.
3. You have good instincts. He makes any rational person uncomfortable, especially given his influence on the segment of the population most eager to find someone to blame for their pathetic lives.
The big problem I have with Glenn Beck is not what he says or how he says it - I believe in the Constitution. The problem is that the vast majority of his audience don't know, or cannot comprehend, that Beck is NOT a journalist ... he is an entertainer. And because his audience does not have the reasoning capabilities to discern this crucial difference, they accept what he says as the truth, rather than what it is ... his own twisted opinion.

let the rational uncomfortable people not watch him then......
It is NOT satire. He's just goofy. Some people find his goofiness to be cute and funny. It does serve the lighten things up a bit, because he is indeed serious about the topics being discussed.
It is NOT meant to be like Colbert, who pretends to be an arch-conservative for the purpose of making fun of arch-conservatives. Beck IS conservative. His goofiness is simply his real personality and his version of entertainment.
