.. The problem is that the vast majority of his audience don't know, or cannot comprehend, that Beck is NOT a journalist ... he is an entertainer.
The last journalist on a major network (cable or broadcast) washed out in the era of John Cambron Swazey, Chet Huntley, and Edward R. Murrow (before he took a stab at controversy). Even Mr. Cronkite became a hybrid of entertainment and journalism.

and it's not going to improve. Imagine what it'll be like in five years....ten years.
I can't imagine him being on television much longer with 3 major advertisers pulling out. Beck is insane and he is finally being noticed by those who pay the bills.
Infotainment and news sell advertizing. That is all that matters.
Anyway you look at it, someone who gets their information solely from the TV is going to be mis-lead anyway. So if you already know the issues, have your own opinion, Beck can be fun to watch as well as you get to see some exposure on the issues you've been thinking about. If you are hearing about it for the first time from Beck, you'll probably be ill-informed.
1. No, unlike the shows that are appropriately shown on Comedy Central, the Glenn Beck show is no comedy - it's a tragedy.
2. No, that's no act - he really is an idiot. And yes, he's not very funny.
3. You have good instincts. He makes any rational person uncomfortable, especially given his influence on the segment of the population most eager to find someone to blame for their pathetic lives.
The big problem I have with Glenn Beck is not what he says or how he says it - I believe in the Constitution. The problem is that the vast majority of his audience don't know, or cannot comprehend, that Beck is NOT a journalist ... he is an entertainer. And because his audience does not have the reasoning capabilities to discern this crucial difference, they accept what he says as the truth, rather than what it is ... his own twisted opinion.
Funny, I have the same opinion of Olbermann and Maddow. I called them "journalists" on this forum once and was called out by a few libs who incessantly stick up for that horrible duo. Beck is not a journalist, he is a "commentator." So there.
How does that make you feel that what you consider a joke blows any liberal out of the running on ratings. Even a joke beats them? LOL
I love Becks show because he exposes the liberal messiah and his thugs.
Apparenly you love Beck because you think he serves to silence and prevent "liberals" from getting anywhere. And by "liberals" we now mean ANY Democrate or any person who hold a differing postion from the extreme right. AND you seen to be proud of that.
We do live in an ignorant world.
