Unless the woman's life is in danger or unless she has been a victim of rape, a woman should bare the consequences of her actions. Anyone who has sex and believes that pregnancy would not occur is only deluding themselves. Why should a defenseless baby suffer so a woman can avoid inconvenience?
I was looking for the other thread where I told about my abortion so I wouldn't have to type it out again. But I will tell you - I was 43-44 years old, not in the best of health, had already raised 3 children to adulthood. My husband and I were doing everything we could think of to avoid pregnancy - I had an IUD, he used a condom and we tried to keep our activity to times when I should have been unlikely to conceive. All of that did not prevent my finding myself pregnant at 44! I was not going to start a new family at that age. I am now 59, have been a widow for 11 years and, had I not made the choice to terminate that pregnancy, I would be trying to raise a 15 y/o on an extremely limited income and no health insurance. So are you trying to say that a wife of 25 years (which I was at 44) should not have been having sexual relations with her husband if she didn't want to raise another child?
If it were her body, the fetus would have her DNA, but that is not the case. He or she has their own unique biological composition. Sometimes the fetus is male. See the problem with the "her body" argument?
No I don't see a problem with it. No woman should be forced to allow her body to serve as an incubator if she doesn't want it to.
I don't view women as the servant cattle of men. I think women who are not ready to become pregnant should keep their legs closed. No birth control method is 100% effective. An innocent baby should not have to suffer because of the irresponsibility of the woman and man who chose to sleep together without regards to consequences.
Comments in bold.
Looks to me like you consider women to be the servant of a fetus. Just because that fetus exists, you want the woman to put her life 'on hold' for at least nine months to give birth. And what are you not understanding about the simple fact that no birth control method if 100% infallible? Let me reiterate - my husband and I were using not one, not two but THREE methods to try to prevent a later in life pregnancy. THEY ALL FAILED!

Stories like this really add to the conversation. I look forward to the responses from pro-life folk here.
If pregnancy is risky, don't get pregnant. It's not like the pregnancy fairy comes along and knocks up women at random. Leave the panties on and there should be no issues.
Gee why don't you tell that to Sarah Palin? Regarding her daughter's pregnancy, she said, "look at my daughter, she is an honor student, if it can happen to her it can happen to anyone."
