Jews and Christians believe in same god, although Jews do not believe in Jesus. Muslim God is not the same God. However, it is dishonest word-twisting from the OPs part to suggest that Obama said US is not a Christian nation. He said US is a Christian nation, a Jewish nation, Muslim nation, atheist nation etc. The point of his words is obvious: US is a nation of many religions.

50 State preambles affirm belief in God

Despite claims to the contrary - even by our current president - this IS a Christian nation. We claimed freedom of religion, not freedom from religion. This is a pervasive cry throughout all our founding history and documents.

One of the moms on the Glenn Beck 9-12 Moms show mentioned that every state affirms God in the preamble. That's worth knowing, so I'm rerunning my 4/26/07 piece:

After reviewing acknowledgments of God from all 50 state constitutions, one is faced with the prospect that maybe, the ACLU and the out-of-control federal courts are wrong! Please pass on this information.

The ACLU fights just as hard for INDIVIDUAL free exercise of religion as the ACLU fights against GOVERNMENT endorsement, sponsorship, or establishment of religion. Despite this fact, many people spread misinformation about the ACLU around the internet, innocently and maliciously, falsely claiming the ACLU is anti-religion or anti-Christian.
