I wrote and "other righties".

Never said you directly. Sorry if it seemed like that. You may or may not be.

My question: where does it state in the Constitution that we, the people, are obligated to pay for VACATIONS for public servants?

Servants who get paid vacations at our expense, when we don't - seems to be bass ackwards.

Let's do one step better - abolish pensions for public servants.
You think Bush paid for the travel arrangements and all that? Doubtful.

Alaska is a long way off too. If we ever get a president from there are we going to frown on him/her going home for Christmas? Or is it only Obama who is not allowed to go home for the holidays? Hawaii not a foreign country for crying out loud.

It would be cheaper for us (the taxpayers footing the bill) if his family came to the White House rather then us paying for umpteen secret service people, Michelle Obama's 30 assistants and Airforce 1 transporting everyone to Hawaii.

The President should realize we are facing hard times and NOT take advantage of our tax dollars for recreational purposes. If he was paying for this trip with personal funds entirely, then of course, he can go where he pleases.

President Obama, if ANY elected official should, should adopt the responsible fiscal posture that Congressman Ron Paul has always had which is to not spend a penny of the taxpayers' money unless it is absolutely necessary.

I'd rather approve a slow boat to Kenya, no return. Regardless of the cost.

Considering what 1 swipe of a President's pen can cost us (just look at the healthcare bill for example), I'd like to see all our leaders go on very long vacations as frequently as possible. Hopefully this Holiday break will be extended until Thanksgiving
