I agree, you said the right thing.

He & his family deserves every vacation they could take.

It's just the right wingers who are whining & hating on his success.
They are going to make themselves miserable this Christmas & the rest of their lives by complaining about someone else's family joy & success.

Like you said, "Good Grief".

Everyone please have a very Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays.

The wars we are in are stupid, unwinable and too expensive and aren't worth wasting a single American life over. But what has he done instead? He is now sending an ADDITIONAL 30,000 troops over there!!!

It is more basic than that. BOTH recent Republican and Democrat leaders have been awful for this country. Those who CARE about this country and restoration of the Constitutional rights and freedoms are disgusted with both parties! Neither have improved anything about this country in any way shape or form since Reagan left office. If we were smart we would have voted for Ross Perot, an Independent, back in the 80's who was against NAFTA --which as we now see lead to the loss of jobs in this country and all the illegal immigration and the problems associated with that. I think it is safe to say, our country would be on a very different path (a much better one heading uphill not downhill like we are on now) right now if Ross Perot had been elected.
You just don't get it, do you?

This thread is about more repug whining about an insignificant expense when there are other expenses that dwarf a CHRISTmas vacation by a mile.

I don't care if our President goes on Christmas vacation. We all need a break. His kids are living under a glass dome and I am sure they will want to enjoy it just like everyone else. We have far more ominous issues than a Christmas vacation. I would like to hog tie our congressmen and sentators to a pole until they get healt reform in a more realistic light. They do not deserve anything but a lump of coal.

Maybe because he wants to spend his holiday surrounded by the friends and family who are staying at the house next door in Hawaii. Can you picture the uproar it would cause if a dozen Obama friends and relatives stayed at the White House with him over the holidays? Republicans were upset over just his mother-in-law moving in to take care of the kids.

Sure... at $56,518 per hour for Air Force One (GAO estimated cost)
(Google maps thinks that Hawaii is 6000 miles from DC. At 500 MPH, a round trip takes 24 hours. So that computes to $1,356,432 round trip airfare - with "free" baggage allowance. )

And did they travel with an entourage of staff, military aides, Secret Service agents?
Who pays their salary? Overtime?
And who pays for their lodgings, food, etc, etc, while the Obamas enjoy their vacation?

Therefore, in these times of economic distress, Mr. Obama is shameful in his waste of taxpayer funds.
Shame, shame on Mr. Obama.
Approximately HOW MANY TIMES would you say George Bush flew BACK AND FORTH to Crawford TX for VACATION during his EIGHT YEARS?

Add to that his VACATION trips to the Bush family compound in Kennebunkport.

All while Bush was running an annual $400 BILLION Tax Defecit !!!

And while American soldiers were dying in Iraq !!!

Did you yell SHAME ON YOU back then?

The deficit for fiscal year 2009, which ended Sept. 30, came in at a record $1.42 trillion, more than triple the record set just last year.

In addition, future deficits are currently projected to total $9.1 trillion in the coming decade.
And raises the ante.

And in case you didn't realize, for 2009, the total deaths in Afghanistan are at 308.
