I concur! I give points when someone posts well; even if I do not like the poster's opinion.

I said no opinion because I really don't have one...this whole issue isn't something I think about. I only befriend people who ask to be my friend and I don't know their sexual orientation. I rep posts I agree with and I don't know their sexual orientation.

Thank you Yac, for reopening the thread; there have been some thoughtful discussions here, and all without rancor.
PITTSTON2SARASOTA, go back to school! I went back at 36, and managed to pull my abyssmal GPA from 1970 up to a 3.5 to get into grad school. You can do it!
That being said, the responses have been gratifying and the poll results encouraging.
I Like Taxes, I think King James would have been besotted with a big, macho cowboy, like John Wayne. Myself, I'm on team Cary Grant...and now you have me rambling, too!

As it should be......unless it is pertinent to answering the thread......in an honest fashion....

It makes no difference to me what people do behind closed doors. I have personally lived through apartheid and will fervently fight for equal rights on all levels. I absolutely cannot stand for any type of bigotry, and that goes for people who may have opinions that differ to mine too. I try hard to respect all opinions, but sometimes fall short I admit. I rep people if I enjoyed their post regardless of their political persuasions, and I have some forum friends whose opinions are very different to mine, but it all comes down to respect and tolerance.

I have started this thread with a poll that will NOT BE PUBLIC. NOONE will know how you voted unless you mention it in a reply. I am really curious and want only HONEST replies; hence the non-public poll.

I do NOT want to have anyone's feelings hurt, nor anyone harassed and this includes myself. Remember that your emotions are sensed by posters by what you type....all of us (me included) have emotions here, so put yourself in the other person's shoes before you post. PEACE
Harrass you? Were they trying to get a date with you?

I'm so glad you said this. I've only got a couple classes left to get my degree & now that I work full-time, it's been impossible to take those classes. A couple of them are given at night which helps, there's just one that is during the day & I'm trying to see how I can get around that. I'm 38 & I HAVE to get my degree, for my own sake. I'll never feel fulfilled until I do it.

On the topic, I don't care if someone is gay or not. I give rep points for any reason, it could be a silly post, a thought-provoking post or even a disparaging post that I agree with & I've even been known to give some rep points to people that I never agree with.

Well bravo for you. It matters not to me. I am "friends" with anyone that asks me and I most certainly will rep ANYONE left, right, black, white, gay, straight if I agree with them.

Interesting thread not something I would think people who have issues with.

I'm more likely to be CD friends with someone because they're gay.

Sorry to hear that you have been harassed by fellow posters. That's just wrong.

To answer your question, someone's sexual orientation is of no business of mine and does NOT factor into who I give rep points to.

Be who you are and be happy!
