I would never discriminate against someone for simply being happy - or as you put it - gay.

Stay calm, my friend, and don't get caught up in the personal stuff between posters. It's not worth it. Try to focus on the issues, not the personalities. (I struggle with it too sometimes.)
They can't, and they won't. They see you as a "behavior," a sexual act, and that's how they measure you. Heterosexuals have the luxury of being individuals first, in most cases, but gays and lesbians do not.
I do understand what you mean.....but I assume you are younger than I am. I have to worry about losing our house when one of us dies because we cannot get married and recieve our mate's social security...It TERRIFIES ME AS WE AGE. YOU may be able to get married within a decade or two.
And I do wish some folks would just forget what we do...since noone but me and my partner know what we do. Everyone is different...we probably do not even do the first thing that comes to mind...only of some people you describe.
Please do not reverse prejudice....than you drop to the level of the people you do not like and that is not what gay people fight for, to treat people fair/equally/respectfully is what I advocate......you'll become what you "hate". Many straight people really do understand and are our allies! And to be fair some want "us" erradicated!

My generation got him to the point where he can post here...to me it's something I thought I would never live to see...So I thank GOD! Even if that is true and I am able to marry, there remains a great deal of work to be done. The struggle for equality is never over.

I got over it with your help...I think I have become a pretty good poster now...especially in my "old Age"..I finally figured out how to copy and paste so I can easily post links if necessary/appropriate. I don't take things so personal now...I was new to the net one year ago...I have learned an awful lot and contain my emotions(usually...LOL). .

Sorry...I misread your name..I too had a "prejudice" against TEXAS...but seriously I met some in the Science forum and many in City vs. City....in the DALLAS vs. PHILADELPHIA thread. For the most part They were polite, informative and respectful...I became friends with many of them...give them a chance...you'll be surprised. (I love your "sick" sense of humor).

I hate Richard Simmons...I love FOOTBALL, POWERTOOLS, SPORTS, LARGE BUGS, I CAN CATCH A BALL, I caught SPIDERS AS PETS as a boy, built bunkhouses etc. I guess I'm a lesbian in a gay dude's body...LOL..
We are all different...I have creamed some straight friends in TENNIS, SQUASH and COMPETITIVE INDOOR BADMITON.......My high fashion is jeans(worn), a t-shirt, sneakers and a baseball cap...but AUM would classify me because I am "slightly effeminate" in my body language, (which I have NO control over) as "lesser". ...LOL. Remember AUM...I'm on "your side" too.
I have always had a knack to be a PEACEKEEPER like the kid in the movie STAND BY ME...I'm a romantic, I love people, but sometimes we are so hated and lied about that I get FURIOUS! We are all more alike than different...I can "see" other people's views(usually if they are logical).
Some posts the other night in a Gay thread were ludicrous and mean towards gays. Get to know us..I'm pretty cool...LOL. I have a good sense of humor check my Movie monster thread... "Who" Is Your Favorite Movie Monster And Why??? I think it is WITTY...LOL.
