If you grew up in a culture where women were expected to wear that garb, you would likely feel immodest without it. I'm not a fan of Islam but forcing them to suddenly stop wearing the garb would be akin to asking an American woman to go around topless. Just my two cents.

that's kind of the typical American statement....if 9-11 didnt happen it wouldnt be an issue to us whether the Arab women were stripped of their garbs in France...but since 9-11 did occur somehow we think that the Eastern world with Europe and The Middle East now needs to fight a war on terror too..well guess what...they had lots more suicide bombings and terror incidents years before 9-11 than we ever saw here...so now all of the sudden just because we get attacked now everyone has to change their laws now because poor America got attacked now when actually people over there were dying alot more before 9-11 but we didn't really give a crap before it happened here to some of us...now who attacked us is a whole different story too...i believe our own government played a part in it personally..too many things on that day dont add up

my point is that no one cared about London or France or the middle east and helping them with a war on terror until we were attacked which proves how selfish we are ..just because we got attacked now other nations must follow some different rules because of us and because "NOW" we finally see what its like to be hit with terror like the way it is in the middle east after we didnt care for so long
