She is certainly a much better public speaker then the president and first lady.

The fact that none of his advisers or public speaking coaches have been unable to break his terrible habit of "umms", "ahhs" and "tuhs" makes it clear that 0bama is egotistical, undisciplined and a narcissist, that he will not except criticism or advice even in something that he does for a living; public speaking.
And what are your excuses for the "darlings of the Right"...you know George W and Sarah Palin

GWB would giggle whenever he pronounced a "big word" correctly.

fyi - The correct word is THAN... not then.

Hillary and Michelle are very similar First Ladies. When Bill Clinton was in office, people really gave her a hard time because she is smart.

Anyone notice she almost always has nothing but minorities around her when she does something? Wonder why?

You know, Barry says humm, ah, uhh, ah all the time too!

What are you implying? Seriously....

If I made the statement that Laura Bush had mostly non-minorities around her whenever she did anything, what would that imply?

You know, if Sarah Palen had done it, everyone would have been all over it, you know?

This is unlike people who say "ummm" a lot, who really are just pausing ("ummm" is a place holder) while they formulate the next thought. It too is a bad habit; but many otherwise good speakers do it. I think in a lot of cases it is to keep from being interupted before they finish thier thought!
Using "you know" is a crutch, just the same as "ummm" and "ahh". Other crutches are "and so", "like I was saying", "he was like", "know what I mean", and "okay".

Using "you betcha" is a cultural phrase from the local community, just like people down south use the phrase "hun", howdy or "darling". Phrases people use locally are not the same as a crutch phrase

Laura Bush saw kids as kids and did things for all kids, not just a certain group like this woman does.
Check into her fund raising and you will see the same pattern from the lady who is finally proud to be an American.

Your insinuations are very unfounded.

Please provide proof that Michelle Obama has a bias.

True. That phrase "you know" drives me nuts when people use it excessively, a few times, i can ignore, but not all the freaking time.. I have heard so many college professors on NPR say "you know" to the point of distraction, where I end up have to change the station. How can people, who are supposed to be intelligent, use crutch phrases and words so much, especially when they speak publicly for a living?
