I know this happened back when the NFC West was trash a few years ago.. I believe it was Seattle vs NO.. Never been a fan of this set up but of course the division winner gets in.. (But who ever wins NFC South is going to be an early exit anyways)

I don't know, if the saints win I can see them beating a team like the Lions or Cards

Yes and I found out the Lions would need to have a better record. So in the situation below we would win the tie breaker over seattle. But it's no way for that to happen because the lions last game is in GB. So it's no way for the Lions to finish 12-4

Anyway you look at it, the Cowboys have to finish 12-4

It's so complicated to me.. lol I figured the NFC North would be sending two teams... GB and Detroit.. That loss to Philly was but so was that Washington loss... East is clearly out of our reach at this point.. I guess at this point I can only hope they dont finish 8-8..

Yeah the NFC is out of reach because the cowboys would have to finish with a better record than the eagles. Meaning that the cowboys would have to win 4 in a row and the eagles would have to lose 4 in a row with the skins and giants being their last 2 games. So you know its no way the eagles can lose 4 straight

Plus Foles is coming back as well. Division games are always a fight but with the way the Skins and Giants have been looking, I am not getting my hopes up.

The only way I would start thinking about the division again is if we beat the bears and the eagles to seattle and we both are 9-4 with a rematch game the following week.

Until that happens I am focused on the wildcard scenario

If there is a three way tie, then the head to head may not necessarily be a direct factor.

I guess I am missing something.... I certainly have not looked at it that close.

Seems to me that if the Cowboys win out (fat chance) then they certainly have a shot at the East assuming the Eagles lose at least one game on top of the Cowboys game in 2 weeks. The Seahawks game next week seems likely a good candidate for that loss..

I don't like the chances of the Cowboys winning out but there is still a lot of football left so I am not mailing it in just yet.
