An interesting article I cam across today while surfing. I dont agree or disagree with the subject matter as I can see points for both sides of the argument. It makes for good reading and good conversation. Lets keep it civil though please.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell should be feeling pressure to act on the accusations against Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger - ESPN

This, taken from the article:

Certainly there were factors with Adam "Pacman" Jones and Michael Vick -- the most high-profile measuring sticks of how the NFL can enforce its code of conduct -- that prompted the commissioner to dole out punishments before they were convicted in a court of law. For openers, Jones had a long history of previous arrests and other run-ins and Vick had already been indicted in his dogfighting case; Roethlisberger hasn't been charged yet.

In my mind discredits the entire gist of the article.

Bens behavor off the field is questionable. I just wish he would meet & marry a nice girl from pa or ohio. The nfl will be having a meeting with ben & discuss his activities & future in the nfl. He best listen.

I think Big Ben should get penalized just as heavy as PacMan and Vick. He has a lot of off the field issues and he does get away with them. Is it because he's white? idk, I really don't know. But maybe the fact that he's a 2-time SB champion play a role? Just reaching

With Pacman there was a proof of shootings ,etc... With Vick it was proven that they were dog fighting on his property and had carcasses of many animals. In both of Ben's cases, so far they are sketchy. In the 1st one the worker discussed with her friend prior to meeting Ben,about sleeping with him because he looked like her boyfriend, and in the 2nd one there was a room full of people even in back rooms but no witnesses. So how can you compare the 3 cases when 2 had witnesses and proof with tangible evidence while Ben's cases have nothing as of now? He does need to surround himself with better people though and maybe grow up a little, and ease up on the nightlife.
