How much does it depend on the person calling you "nice," how enjoyable is it to hear...? If no one calls you "nice," okay, just tell us that. Maybe many people are in that boat. And is "nice" much more common from strangers and casual acquaintances than loved ones?

It's a compliment. Say Thank You and smile. More common from strangers in my case.

Honestly, I'm not a nice person so when I get called nice, it turns my stomach.

I often get called nice by the homeowners I visit in my appraisal business. I'm happy that I come across that way because I actually am very nice.

I don't mind being considered nice. I think among younger people that word has something of a negative connotation. But for me, an older person, it doesn't.

I don't mind it, although I usually get "sweet" which I also don't mind. I think it's different for guys, but even there they may be thinking of "Nice Guy" in the negative way instead of what most people actually mean when they call someone nice, i.e. "You're a nice person". There is a world of difference between "nice" and "Nice", and only one of them actually means you're a kind person because the capitalized version usually doesn't mean nice at all.

"Aww, you just made my day."

I say the same thing to those who seem genuinely surprised at how old I am.

If someone called me a "nice guy", I would consider it an insult.

If they say it and then follow it with "bless your heart," you should know it's sarcastic.
