How much does it depend on the person calling you "nice," how enjoyable is it to hear...? If no one calls you "nice," okay, just tell us that. Maybe many people are in that boat. And is "nice" much more common from strangers and casual acquaintances than loved ones?

Honestly, I'm not a nice person so when I get called nice, it turns my stomach.
I don't mind being considered nice. I think among younger people that word has something of a negative connotation. But for me, an older person, it doesn't.
I don't mind it, although I usually get "sweet" which I also don't mind. I think it's different for guys, but even there they may be thinking of "Nice Guy" in the negative way instead of what most people actually mean when they call someone nice, i.e. "You're a nice person". There is a world of difference between "nice" and "Nice", and only one of them actually means you're a kind person because the capitalized version usually doesn't mean nice at all.
nice is the polite way of saying.."we dont want anything to do with you, go away" its like the southern expression 'Bless his heart" which means "stupid"
