NRG- I use the same HT in Falls. Most of the time they are very good. I do have to say though, that recently I have seen that they don't have as many cashiers or definitely baggers. Yesterday, being Valentines Day, there was only one cashier ( the usual) on in the beginning of the morning. There were many people in there getting last minute flowers, candy, etc and they weren't prepared. Overall though they are usually pretty good. I fpossible, I try to avoid the store on Sundays as it is always extremely busy and I usually wind up bagging my own groceries. The expansion does look like it is going to make the store huge. I can't imagine what they are adding!
My parents hate the one at Cary Park (closest to them)...my mom thinks it's because it's the newest they get the bottom of the barrel for everything.
I haven't had any issues with the one on Davis and High House, but I usually don't buy a lot there (only things on special) and I do self checkout. Having someone bag my groceries makes me twitchy, but I'm still getting used to the change from NY, where you are lucky if the CASHIER bags your order without major eye-rolling!

That doesn't make much sense. Generally new stores get the best of the best because they want to establish themselves in the community, and then they let their standards start slipping. If they're new and already slipping that speaks to very poor management at that location.

Tell your parents to stop by the one on 55 a couple mile south of them. They are probably out this way a lot anyway. It is much better.

They are always changing the management at that location so it's pretty bad.
I agree with the other poster about the one a little further away on 55 it's much better
The HT on Leesville Rd. is great, although I usually go in the morning when its empty. I usually see the same cashiers, who are always nice. And, on almost every trip I see the manager walking through the aisles checking the displays and he always initiates a "Good Morning" when he passes me.
I've even had to return to the store when I got home and realized something wasn't in my bag (beware of the end of the conveyor belt - small, slim packages can be pushed down in there ). I was expecting Customer Service to give me a hard time, but they didn't...just said "No problem, feel free to grab another one and just tell the cashier."
Another vote for the one on 55 and High House/Green Level West. Stable and friendly employees. I once was making a complicated dish and had to go to the store 4 times in 1 hour to get missing ingredients. They told me to call ahead and they'd meet me at the curb if I had to make another trip! They always greet me by name, always bag, and always offer to carry.

Haven't had a bad experience with service in Chatham, and I do try to stop in to pick up the "meal deal" if nothing else! Overall, I like Krogers better because of the pricing, but I have to drive further to get there. Krogers has a great produce department too, almost as good as HT's.
