I just don't get the disdain for people who want to move to this area. I guess some people are so ego-centric they think they have more of a right to enjoy this area because they grew up here. Pretty sad IMO.

Would you rather be tops in job losses? Just another reason to complain I guess.

It's not just natives (and I am one, though my parents moved here from about an hour away in the 60s) that want people to stop coming. Even relative newcomers want to be the last ones in and pull the door shut behind them.

Raleigh and its environs will continue to be a magnet for high-tech and biotech job creation. Major employers adding the most jobs will be Duke University, the University of North Carolina, IBM, Cisco, GlaxoSmithKline, Nortel, Verizon and Lenovo. As the capital of a state with healthy finances, Raleigh will also steadily add government jobs. Moreover, it's a regional hub for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, supporting thousands of related private-sector jobs.
Is it me, or is it that every employer in that paragraph other than Cisco and Verizon is actually located in a county other than Wake?

Also, isn't the EPA in Durham County?

I don't think most people care if relocators come here. Not if they have retirement money and/or a job lined up.

It's the unemployed who come here that are of concern.

This is my exact response to those who want to halt immigration to the U.S. We all came from somewhere else at some point in history.

I don't mind if people move here if we have the infrastructure to support them. But that's not really the case as we can see from overcrowded schools, overcrowded roads, etc etc.

I find that it really isn't the natives; with the exception of a couple. It IS those that moved here years ago and now find that they don't want to SHARE!

Default Boulder/Denver is the same way. . .

Anyone who gets there after you is unwelcome. It's not just RDC.
