Having grown up with Publix in SC I'm not as impressed with it as some here. The new H-T sounds quite nice and it'll save us a drive to the Creedmoor Commons location on NC-98! As for the Lowe's Foods there, it has improved since it underwent renovations so we'll stop in there every now and again. I'll go off the map a little but what I'd like to see in the Brier Creek area is a nice large Asian grocery like Li Ming's or Grand Asia and/or a Trader Joe's.

There's going to be a Publix at the intersection of Leesville and Strickland. That's a little over 5 minutes from Brier Creek

Given that US 70 (Glenwood) is supposed to become a freeway, a driveway would not be allowed.

Both Brier Creek and TW Alexander are supposed to become interchanges. However, given the short spacing between the two, making it work is difficult. One concept presented at the project public workshop a few months back was to not include ramps to/from TWA and 70, but build a new road, an extension of Aviation Parkway which has been on the plans for a while, to make that connection. It would tie into 70 a bit west of the current TWA intersection. (TWA would have a grade separation.)

I thought Brier Creek was supposed to be a mega shopping and living community, yet for the longest time it only offered Lowes, Food Lion, and Earth Fare as true standalone grocers, all of which are substandard.

Meanwhile Cary gets every grocery store imagineable on every block including Aldis, several Publix, new Whole Food, new H-Mart, upcoming Wegmans, etc.

Go figure.

Leesville Market Place is in a separate trade area from Brier Creek.

Brier Creek is a poorly planned pedestrian and traffic nightmare that is all that is wrong with consumerism. Places like North Hills and Park West Village are more dense and integrated. North Hills especially carries the aspects of "live, work, play" all rather well. Brier Creek is just retail everywhere with offices segregated behind it and neighborhoods across the road. Heaven help you if you want to walk across the seas of parking lots and Brier Creek Parkway or that terrible intersection at Glenwood.

I completely agree.
And, they had about 11,000 acres at Brier Creek to do something imaginative, exciting and forward-thinking from the ground up with integration of housing and commercial.
Complete Fail.

For those of us that are price sensitive, Publix is a place that won't add any value to Brier Creek.

Go figure? It does have everything to do with figures actually. Numbers on spreadsheets.

Food Lion #2646, Alexander Village, 2121 T. W. Alexander Drive, Morrisville, North Carolina 27560-6812; and Lowe's Foods #224, 8100 Brier Creek Parkway, Raleigh, North Carolina 27617-7599, will struggle with extra high prices against Harris Teeter #304.
