Projections, shmecktions. The site for the Wake Tech Main Campus was picked in the late 50s/early 60s because that's where they predicted the center of population of Wake county would be a couple of decades on. Just a touch off.

I heard a rumor that 25 years ago there was an interstate highway planned in that area, too!
I'm with you, haven't heard or seen a plane in Morrisville in ages
I work in Morrisville and the plane noise is atrocious. I'm not deaf or dumb. Living in Morrisville does not mean you are directly under a flight path or that you wake up every night to 3am amtrak trains. Like any other location you have to do a little leg work when you buy.

Kitts Creek comes to mind immediately. You can have a cold one on the porch and watch the setting sun glint off the unheard planes to the south.
Ahead of the growth? These things should have been done years and years ago
I think the biggest issues are 54 being state owned and then, of course, the railroad. The town has to wade through government bureaucracy to get anything down with either of those.
I'm surprised by how so many people mention the plane noise. I live in Kitts Creek and have always found it to be really quiet. I actually turn on a space heater in the house because the noise from the birds chirping in the morning bothers me more than anything lol. My wife actually refuses to move because she is so in love with the location and the convenience to everything. But we pretty much get onto Davis which is really only busy around 5-6 p.m. in my experience.

Because you're in just about the only part of Morrisville that's outside the noise contours.
But, I'll say, it is just not as bad as people assume it will be. I mean we live on the edge of the green and the end of my street is the border with yellow. Horror, sometimes we have to turn the TV on the outside porch up a little or pause it for 10 seconds when the odd plane flies right over head, while most are nicely viewed from our yard. Inside, you don't even notice.
