I only like the Chinese places that feature a Mongolian grill. Having said that, you'd think Mongolian Crazy Fire would be a candidate, but they are just this side of awful.
The only one I visit anymore is the one in Mission Valley, near NCSU, China Queen.
And I haven't even been there in a couple of years.
Hmm I'll have to check that one out, it seems to have decent reviews for a buffet.

Bali Hai in Garner is a favorite among my coworkers - definitely better than Crazy Fire
I admit that sometimes I like a good Chinese buffet too. I run over to China Buffet in Durham a lot - just off 15/501 - 3720 Mayfair St, Durham, NC 27707.
They seem to have a flood of Google reviews in the past month so I'm not sure they're legit - but I've gone there a lot and it's clean and tasty.
Yeah I've been to this one several times. Pretty good as far as buffets go. Their hibachi grill and dessert selection are what sets them apart. Their standard buffet food is nothing special.
This thread makes me nostalgic for Crystal Palace!
Thats true of every restaurant. Perhaps to a greater degree with buffets, but you have no idea whats going on in the kitchen.
Agreed.
I'd add movie theaters as well that serve food/concessions. People don't really think about it I guess, but there's some shady stuff that can happen there when the majority of your employees are high schoolers that rotate between concessions and cleaning up after stupid idiots leaving trash in theaters.
I used to work in one a long long time ago. Some of the stuff that happened to product (drinks included) before it reached consumers... I still shudder at movie theater food and drinks.
Pick your battles, but pretty much unless you prepare it yourself you never know what is going on. Just eat your food and build up some immunity to the plague I guess.
