I've seen a few places to get them from online and am considering ordering from. One is overnight boxes . com and the other is used cardboard boxes . com . There are others, but thought I'd ask here. The shipping is free.

Thanks.

We always get our boxes for free from grocery stores. If you call ahead of time and tell them you'd like sturdy boxes for moving, they'll usually save them for you. Hope this helps!

you can try craigslist often there is free boxes there.
Or you could hit retailers who do not use a carboard compactor such as Old Navy, abc stores, etc Generally the dumpster in back with the slit in the side.

We purchased boxes through U-Haul since we were moving long distance and storing our stuff in a POD. They have many sizes/types, some specific for dishware, lamps, artwork etc. They're not cheap but worth the extra money to allow for various types of packing. They also sell tape guns, bubble wrap, mattress/sofa covers and much more. They can be purchased at a U-Haul store or online.

There is a free stuff website where people post stuff they want to give away/recycle.
I will try to find the link. They usually have boxes on there.

It is a web site called FreeCycle.org and they have a local group( Wake County), but it seems to be a yahoo group you have to join. It is easy though and I saw alot of great stuff on it . I had forgotten about it and now need to rejoin because I forgot my signin info.

Also, check bookstores such as Borders, Barnes & Noble etc. They have a very handy size box they use that is great for moving/packing. I used to manage a bookstore and still have lots of boxes over a decade later!

I got boxes at a liquor store (smaller boxes), and for larger boxes you may want to check around back of shoppes in a plaza or strip mall. They have dumpsters that say "cardboard only," and there you'll find bigger boxes.
