I have to say, I am glad to be back in the Triangle. I spend almost all of my time somewhere within the Triangle, but the other day I ventured just a little west of Jordan Lake. What a different world out there. The homes are so run down compared to what we have in the Triangle. Nothing was kept up and I swear all I did was run into people that forgot to see a dentist at least once a decade. I just was not expecting such a big difference in lifestyle and atmosphere. I did what I needed to do and got back to Wake County as fast as I could.

Man, it's good to be back home. I wonder what I will find if I head a little east, south or north of the Triangle? Maybe I should just stay here and enjoy.

Hmmm not sure how to respond to this. I think it's unfortunate to generalize like that. True, northern NC is rural. People are poor and jobs are sparse, but they do the best they can. I don't think knocking them for affording what's available to them is a good thing to do.

I believe this is a "parody" poster. If so, I love the maturity.

Nontheless, although harshly stated, those of us interested in moving to NC and trying to scope out areas appreciate any info or opinions of any areas, even negative ones. eg I'd love a rural setting, but not one with lots of run down homes and really "rough looking" people everywhere. And nothing against such people at all, just not my cup o tea.

I have 2 questions:

1. If this is a parody poster, why pick NRG? No offense, NRG, but there are plenty of more controversial characters on this forum!

2. Robyns.nest, how did you manage to post just an emoticon? Everytime I want to write a one-word post, the system tells me it's not long enough.

3. And to keep on topic....where the heck *is* West Raleigh?

ETA: I guess that was three questions....
