I agree with you, Mich - HOWEVER (there always is a however isn't there?) actually, nothing is better than spending the summer down at the lake, and then going to pick blackberries - in those snakey damn fields in the worst part of the summer - then Mom baking them right up into a cobbler!

Guava pie is a new on on me too... please do tell... do you have a secret recipe you can make not so secret anymore? I love guava, and would love to try it in a pie... hmmmm Research time!

My grand mother made them years ago. I would say use the guavas the same as you would a peach. Just a tropical fruit. Just don't eat the seeds when eating the fresh guavas....Not a good move. We have a quart of canned guavas that will be a cobbler or pie soon.

I had a slice of coconut cream pie tonight made with a chocolate crust. Not half bad at all. That pie will not last long.
