i dont usually hit the food boards, but was hoping for some ideas. i used to love to cook, but with 5 kids- lost my interest trying to keep everyone happy. now i only cook when the mood suits me- and it is suiting me today- so, thanks for some ideas.

and to answer the op- lobster stew, chicken soup, texas brownies and bacon wrapped scallops is what the family asks for. friends want my baked brie, cream puffs or christmas cookies.

Please ask your wife to share some of her potato recipes, they are not that easy to find!

Really? Most of her receipes come right of Better homes and garden cook books the ones with the Gingham style table cloth print. Then she jazzes them up to suit the party or affair we are attending. She has like ten different editions going back to the 1940's she has accumulated from Granny and Mom.

Yes, please ask her about one of the granny's recipes, they are usually really nice.
And if it is not too much to ask, one with her own twist. I really like "adapted" recipes. Thanks!
