Everybody who enjoys cooking has a dish people automatically assign to them at meetings.
Others, who just enjoy eating, automatically think of that dish a person usually brings and everybody loves.

What is yours? How did it become famous?
If possible, add a recipe too. Thanks!

At office parties and at church dinners, I am well known for my vegetarian chili. The only complaints I get are that my old 80's crock pot is too small Usually find it wiped clean at the end of the meal

depends on what I am asked to bring.........

canapes..........chopped green chilis mixed with cream cheese, spread on fresh flour tortillas, rolled and sliced into small pinwheels

salad...........broccoli, cauliflower, cheese, green onions, pimento, diced small and mixed with ranch dressing

casserole.........chicken enchiladas.......Frito's covered with diced cooked chicken, mushroom soup, chicken broth, enchilada sauce. Bake for 40-40 minutes, sprinkle cheese on top for the last 10 minutes.

formal.......cornish hens roasted and stuffed with wild rice dressing.

Mine are desserts.
But the greatest hits are ricotta pie and trifles with savoiardi cookies.

On the savory side, beef stroganoff and quiches in general.

The ones on my mind now are roast beef with au jus for sandwiches needed for family reunion Sunday...and turkey in cheese sauce for sandwiches also. Looking for those Jello shots...

Then it would be shrimp and halibut chunks wrapped in bacon, skewered and slathered with BBQ sauce, served over rice and grilled veggie skewers.

My friends and family always want me to make the cheese ball and pumpkin cake roll for our gatherings. I also make a mean taco salad that everyone likes, and my sopapillas and homemade Tex-Mex enchiladas are requested frequently. I'm usually in charge of the wine, too, when the family gathers. I know nothing about wine. Luckily, my family will drink anything! LOL

I'm not allowed in the door at Thanksgiving with the family unless I make pumpkin cheesecake. It was actually my ex-fiance's step-sister's family recipe! She made it one year while we were dating and I just had to get the recipe! Now my family makes me make it for every fall/winter holiday. To be honest, I usually don't even have a slice anymore - I'm kind of sick of it!
My friends usually demand that I make these cheese balls stuffed with green olives as an appetizer, and miso salmon as an entree.
I have very demanding friends and relatives!!!
