Lets say for example you are walking to a building and you are about 15 ft away from the door. A man is coming out the same door you are about to enter. He sees you and waits until you get there and holds the door open for you while you walk in past him. Do you like this or does it make you uncomfortable?
I'm not talking about a situation where you are right behind the man and he holds the door a few seconds longer so you can grab the door. That's normally what happens everyday. I'm talking about when he goes out of his way to hold it open for you.

I love it. Absolutely. Not one of those "don't hold the door for me" women.

It makes me feel like I need to rush, but I also think it's nice and I do appreciate it. I always smile and say thank you.

I find it very chivalrous. What's not to like? I pick up my pace a bit so he's not standing there longer than necessary, smile, and say thank you.

I've done something similar to that maybe not 15ft (I'm not a doorman, LOL) and the woman kind of scowled, but for the most part, woman are grateful.

I appreciate it. It seems like that kind of act is becoming less and less common.

I always say thank you. Guys who do this make me smile...because so many don't even think to make the gesture (not that they have to, but it's nice when they do).
