How can you even think that?! What the hell is wrong with you?! Drive?! Did you have that "drive" right before you got the cancer?! Do you want it back?!
The drive and cancer were two different things. In fact afterwords I worked even harder. During treatment I didn't slow down a lot. I wasn't going to give cancer any more of my time than it already did.
I was running hard and fast until last summer when I moved and that slowed things down a bit for me.

You better do some research on long-term stress, lack of sleep, immune system, cancer, and all those goodies! In any event, why would anybody in his right mind want 2 full-time jobs unless you're absolutely forced to do it?!

I was married to a deadbeat at the time. I was living in a town I hated. Besides I'd rather burn out than fade away. I have to be active and doing something all the time.
My body is not a temple... It is an amusement park.
IMO, it's because WE have MOTIVATION! You can tell approximately, at least at a minimum WHO works and who doesn't. You can also tell if they have a no BS boss or someone lenient who gives them free rain to do what they like. Under strict supervision and management you are giving it your all at all times. No slip ups, no mistakes. You do the right thing that makes him a wealthy man, add a unmatchable reputation to the field and he still b*tches! LOL After the years you just go numb. You are so locked in and secure because of your abilities, you have a job as long as you can put up with them and you want to stay. They need to find something not many people are qualified or want to do. After they do that they are getting somewhere.
Thing is with that, I've been self-employed for probably 3/4 of my life.
I don't play well with others.
Right now I'm in a partnership, which is sort of like a marriage to someone you don't respect or like very much, but the marriage pays the bills. Plus, I have about 40 "children" to think about.
I've found that, at least for me and my "unique" personality, I can only prosper when I'm self-employed, but those days are past. Now it's just marking time.

Mine too, but I've been condemned many times for being an unsafe ride.
"You must be THIS tall to ride Phil"

It doesn't. The best is with kids and dogs.
I could say something along the lines of "I had to check to see what the original comment was about", but that would be in poor taste...
