Maybe not to that extent but yes. There was this guy at my school library who wasn't a student and he was able to get onto the computers in the lab even if you need a username and password under the school. He gave a me a creepy vibe throughout the whole time we were talking and he gave me his number when we finished talking. Then, as I walked out of the library, this girl comes up to me and asks if I gave him my number and I told her no. She said that was good because that guy had stalked her friend!!! and he was doing the things the OP mentioned!! I freaked out and after Sociology class I went to Campus Safety and told the security guard. He said that he'd look out for him
Fast forward the clocks about 2 weeks later. A security alert went out of a guy of the exact description that creeped me out! It turns out, he had assaulted a girl at another college close to mine!!!! so I went back and told them that I had seen the guy and gave him the name that the guy gave me! And the other girl who warned me went to go tell him everything she knew too!
The last I heard about him was that he was in jail.
About eight years ago I had a female stalker. It started out that she bought me a drink between sets when me and my band were doing a gig in San Antonio. Then, she was at every gig I did, even when we were back in Austin. She lived in New Braunfels, TX, which is between the two cities.
Then, she would wait for me outside the club after the show, by my truck. Where I really screw-up was when I bedded her. (She was gorgeous, looked like...oh, what's her name? That chick Ben Stiller is married to? Then, she conned a neighbor into letting her in my condo, saying she was my sister. She was waiting for me one morning at 3 a.m. when I got home, in my bed, all decked-out in Goth lingerie and make-up, lwith Gregorian Chants cranked-up on my stereo.
I finally had to get a restraining order put on her. But she kept coming around; on two occasions I had to call the cops. She shrieked that if i didn't let her have my baby, she'd kill herself, but not before doing in the DrummerBoy as well.
Turns out she was BiPolar, and crazy as a road lizard. She had been institutionalized a few times before, once for burning-down her lover/girlfriend's cabin.
Finally, check this out: about 18 mos. ago I got an email from her, and she apologized for all her past actions and claimed she was doing much better, was on some new meds, and was living up in Portland, OR with family. Normally, I woulda been pleased with this email; except that she included a youtube attachment of the Sting doing "Every Step You Take."
Whew! I'm just glad I didn't have a pet bunny rabbit when she was stalking me.
"Brooklyn boy took a mental beat down" Its pretty exhausting, so I know what you mean. When I realized the extent to which some people can become obsessed, I felt the same way, I'd have to move, etc. And I did, a few times...That line about her being the "evil one" would have freaked me out, though
Yeah, it was nuts. And the bill she wanted me to pay was for the her cell phone! The one she was using to send the crazy texts and calls. It was like pay my bill so I could keep driving you bananas please.
